The How and the Why of Writing Artist Statements

Join award-winning artist and writer Mikaela Castledine to discuss the purpose and value of writing a quality artist statement. Learn how to deconstruct good and bad statements, as well as practice paring back – how to say the same thing in fewer words.
In this workshop you will learn to write and edit statements for your own projects, as well as looking at what goes into an artist’s CV – what to add and what to leave out.
 
Please bring pen and paper, or an ipad/computer for taking notes, as well as examples of your statements, CVs, and/or photos of your work.
