Geologist by day and potter by night, Adam Black is known for throwing consistent, matching tableware inspired by the natural materials of WA. Andrea Vinkovic - Throwing Large Vessels Using Coil & Throw Technique

Andrea will demonstrate how to make large scale vessels by using the "coil & throw" method
Andrea Vinkovic fell in love with clay 28 years ago, while on maternity leave with her daughter Emma, with whom she runs ClayMake Studio. Andrea combines a variety of techniques to make her work, be it handbuilding, wheel-work, slipcasting, or a combination of all three. She will be demonstrating techniques used to make larger vessels on the wheel using a combination of handbuilding (coiling) and wheel throwing. You can find out more about her practice here. |
Emma Vinkovic - Architectural Sculpture

Emma will demonstrate leather-hard slab construction techniques
Emma Vinkovic has been around clay her whole life, and is one half of ClayMake Studio, which she started with her mum, Andrea. Emma’s sculptural practice is focused on creating surreal, architectural cityscapes, which she handbuilds mainly using leather-hard slabs to make large-scale hollow forms. Luda Korczynskyj - Hot Wax Decoration

Luda will demonstrate Ukrainian hot-wax decorating techniques on clay
Luda Korczynskyj's work combines her Ukrainian background with her love of Australian flora through her use of traditional Ukrainian hot wax resist. Originally used on Easter eggs (Pysanky), Luda had adapted it to work on ceramics, creating intricate and fine linework on porcelain. Luda will demonstrate her refined technique, as well as share her knowledge of various ceramic materials used to colour ceramics. You can find out more about her practice here. |

Paul O'Conner has worked in many creative fields over the past 30 years – artist, lecturer, creative director, brand manager, editor, visual merchandiser and fashion stylist.
