Annemieke will demonstrate slipcasting using altered & fragmented molds
Annemieke Mulders is driven by a need to understand things that puzzle her. In the past this motivated her scientific research. Now it motivates her ceramic art practice. With her sculptural work she explores the border and shared space of order, chaos, function, asymmetry and beauty. Annemieke will be sharing how she uses discarded vessels that are changed by cutting, rearranging or breaking part of its surface. You can learn more about her practise here. |
Elaine Bradley - Printing on Clay

Elaine will demonstrate various ways of printing on clay
Elaine Bradley’s art teacher was so delighted that she took embroidery as an art elective, he wouldn’t let her switch to clay when she realised it was an option. Later Elaine pursued clay any way she could, in Dublin, London, Perth, ending up in ANU Canberra where she focussed on Print on Clay techniques. Elaine will show how to use your own imagery or text to print your own underglaze transfers for leatherhard clay. Then she’ll switch tack explaining how to print, apply and fire laser decals for putting onto glazed work. You can learn more about her practise here |

Kim will demonstrate throwing large pots
Kim Lyons is a Master Potter who has 40 years experience in the ceramics industry, starting out at the age of 15 from his parent's back shed. Kim Lyons' Pottery makes all sorts of things out of clay, from garden planters to chimney pots, bricks, roof tiles, crockery and even the clay itself. Kim will be demonstrating how to throw large pots (20kg+) in one piece, as well as answering any of your questions about ceramics and clay making. You can learn more about his practise here |

Robyn will demonstrate different sculpting & handbuilding techniques focusing on the human form
Robyn Varpins has been working with clay as a sculptural material for over 25 years, as an award-winning sculptor, teacher, and art therapist. Her loving rendition of the human form conveys her passion for people and the human condition. Some of her clay pieces are stylized and symbolic, while others are realistic, yet with a rawness that makes them very intimate. Robyn will be demonstrating a variety of sculpting techniques that she uses to create her human forms. You can learn more about her process here |
Valerie Schonjahn - working with porcelain, process driven & experimental

Valerie will demonstrate different ways of handbuilding with porcelain
Born in Zürich and living in Walyalup/Fremantle, Valerie Schonjahn is an artist with a background in the architectural profession and a passion for the garden. With an inquisitive nature, her arts practice is rooted in experimenting and interrogating the things closest to her. Valerie combines hand-formed ceramic vessels with found and collected materials. Valerie will be demonstrating working with porcelain in a process driven and personally experimental way, as well answering questions about mixing media You can learn more about her practise here. |
