About the Artist
Deanne Jecks is a ceramic artist based in Perth, W.A. Inspired to start her ceramics journey after travelling to Japan in 2017, Ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arrangement) and Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics) are strong influences in her ceramics practise. Deanne’s pieces are an ongoing investigation into manipulating forms to create interest while leaving space for a considered floral arrangement. Designed as sculptural pieces, many of the works also serve a simple function, to accompany an everyday ritual. To learn more about Deanne's work you can visit her Instagram here. |
