Vessels for Ikebana and Simple Flower Arrangements
with Deanne Jecks
Bring your love of flowers and clay together and re-define what you think of as a vase.
Focusing on how your flower or branch will sit within and be supported by your container, play with making different forms to showcase that single stem you noticed growing in the garden or couldn't resist foraging on the way home.
In this four week course you will be introduced to basic concepts of Ikebana (the Japanese art and philosophy of flower arranging) and discuss ideas to create your own unique vessels.
This course is open to beginners however will be most beneficial to those with existing hand building or wheel experience. Makers will be able to utilise their ceramic skills to explore and expand their approach to designing forms and structures.
