A beautiful vase can be elevated by the perfect arrangement, and the perfect arrangement needs a beautiful vase. If you want to learn how to masterfully arrange flowers in your vessels, this is a workshop is for you.
Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging, is known for its beauty and simplicity. Under the guidance of teachers from the Perth Sogestu Ikebana School learn how to do arrangements in your own ceramic vessels. Sogetsu school of Ikebana draws out the freedom of expression in each individual, always new, always beautiful, and never constrained by preconceptions.
Participants are required to bring their own vessels (handmade encouraged!), arrangement materials are included in workshop fee but feel free to bring some from your garden.
Ursula Pagels has been involved in Ikebana for over 40 years, creating public works for Art in Bloom and the Monet and Japan exhibition at AGWA. She has won awards for her work and exhibited both in Perth and in Japan for Ikebana International.
Davorka Sudac-Rengel has over 20 years Ikebana experience and has been involved in exhibitions of Artists of Croatian origin in WA in cooperation with Andrea VInkovic, also participating in Biology as an Art Exhibition at Lawrence Wilson Gallery at UWA.
