For Beginners
Discover the timeless art of handbuilding in this comprehensive 5-week course designed for beginners and intermediate makers. Working with stoneware clay, you'll explore fundamental techniques including slab construction, extrusion methods, and clay carving to create functional and sculptural pieces. Each session builds your skills progressively, from shaping and joining clay to refining surfaces and applying glazes. By the end of the course, you'll have a solid foundation in handbuilding methods and the confidence to develop your own ceramic practice. All materials provided, and you'll take home finished, glazed pieces you've crafted with your own hands.
For Returning Students
Mastering the craft requires practice and time to explore possibilities. As you get proficient at hand-building techniques you will be able to design and create more complex forms and acquire new skills.
